About the event

When: Saturday July 22nd, 2023  - 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Registration (for a team of 2-4 people)  $45.00

Community Rug Felting is a tradition in cultures all over the world. The common thread is that people come together to make something of beauty to give away as celebration of different stages of life such as births, weddings, retirement and deaths.

Working in teams of 2-4, each table will create a unique wet felted wall hanging, placemat or small rug using pre-felts. Pre-felts are partially felted sheets of wool that can be cut into design elements, layered and then wet felted together into a single piece for table runners, rugs, wall hangings & much more. In this class, you will learn how to create templates and cut pre-felts to create crisp design elements in your finished piece. Then you will assemble the pre-felt design pieces on your base layer and wet felt them together into a lovely finished piece of art.

Each team will make one wet felted piece using 3-5 different colors and design features (approximately 12 x 15 inch finished size). All wool for the pieces will be provided including white or grey background fleece and a range of pre-felts for you to choose from.
